For high-altitude safety belts equipped with safety ropes, the length of the safety rope should not exceed 2 meters, otherwise there is a risk of the user falling freely, the distance being too long, and the impact force exceeding the limit that the human body can withstand once it falls.
Selection of high-altitude safety belts in special circumstances:
When working in special circumstances, such as welding at heights, it is necessary to use safety belts made of flame-retardant materials. Conventional seat belts can be damaged by contact with welding slag and sparks, and will not provide protection when falling.
- Roof and tank roof operations. As long as it hasn't reached the edge, it's impossible for it to fall. Limit the activity area of workers by using a restraint rope (belt). In this case, a restraint belt can be used, or other types of safety belts can be used.
- Use a ladder for operation. Various ladders used for high-altitude operations, such as those standing outside walls, chimneys, and in workshops, require operators to face the ladder when climbing, and safety belts should be connected to the anti fall devices on the ladder. Due to the absence of a single hanging point loop on the chest of the seat belt, it is necessary to equip at least a double hanging point seat belt for this operation.
